The Challenges

  • Ensuring that detailed logs of all user and system activities are consistently captured and retained to support compliance, traceability, and audit readiness.

  • Designing and implementing fault-tolerant architectures to ensure high availability.

  • Ensuring that resources are right sized to avoid over-provisioning or under-provisioning.

  • Deploying applications within a structured and segmented cloud account environment.

  • Establishing a cloud operations model for ongoing management.

Solution

AsiaPac followed their internal Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to enable CloudTrail for every AWS account created. Logs are pushed to S3 with versioning and encryption enabled.

AsiaPac deployed multi-AZ architectures for web and application tiers, using Elastic Load Balancers (ELB) and Auto Scaling to handle failures and scale resources automatically.

AsiaPac used the Bill of Materials (BOM) provided by the customer to determine the initial cost of the solution. They recommended deploying the smallest instances acceptable to avoid oversizing.

IHHSG benefits from enhanced security through CloudTrail, Security VPC, and encryption, providing robust protection for data and resources.

High availability and resilience are guaranteed with fault-tolerant architectures and multi-AZ deployments, which minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.

Cost optimization is achieved by right sizing and efficient resource utilization, reducing cloud spend while maintaining performance.

Improved governance and compliance are supported by centralized auditing, logging, and structured environments that ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

Scalability and flexibility are facilitated by Landing Zone and multi-account setups, enabling future growth and expansion.

Operational excellence is maintained through a standardized operations model that ensures the efficient and proactive management of cloud resources.
